Montebello Girls Win
California State Championship!
Our Montebello Girls U14 “Wolfpack” team led by head
coach Agustin Alamillo and assistant coach Jose Avalos brought home the
2012 state championship!
Our girls are number ONE out of more than 500 AYSO
teams in California for girls ages 14 and under.
We started at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, in
the State Tournament in Cathedral City with a 7 to 3 win over the San
Bruno Gigantes. Our girls then advanced to face Alhambra’s
Toxic Waste at 12:30 p.m. in the rain with high winds. Montebello’s
girls ended this game as State Champions with a 2 to 1 win in
overtime.
The players and coaches displayed an excellent level
of play and good sportsmanship during a very competitive and emotional
game.
